New Moon in Aquarius 2021
This New Moon in Aquarius calls upon the winds of change, lifting our collective out of the teachings of Capricorn with its dense, earthly energy into the rebel, genius of Aquarius.
Slowly the vast configuration of planets that were conjunct in Capricorn are going on their separate journeys as they springboard off from the sign of Aquarius. Today we see the Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn here in this sign.
Aquarius is a fixed air sign. Saturn and Uranus have rulership over this sign which makes for an interesting dynamic. The fixed, Saturn quality brings grounding and discipline to this sign - the capacity to follow through and establish long term change. The air quality and Uranus bring brilliance and genius to an activated mind. Aquarius is known for its exceptional intelligence, its ability to ground lofty esoteric concepts in a tangible and understandable way. This sign offers deep listening, expanding our awareness to see and hear beyond our limited conditioning. It lights up and activates parts of our psyche that were less accessible before. We see new pathways and new possibilities. Yet with this shift in perspective comes a questioning in all that we had blindly accepted as “normal” before. And here is the Aquarian essence of rebellion - the archetype of the Heretic.
The word heretic derives from the Goddess Hera. Hera, aka Juno, the Goddess of Heaven was the wife of Zeus and was offered the role of serving relationships, marriage, union. Her teachings were one of seeing the union and interrelationship of all life upon earth, between nature, the plants, animals and humans as well as between the multiverses. Her followers saw the bridge between heaven and earth, they lived in service to communion and unconditional love founded in oneness. As our collective consciousness shifted worshiping Hera, animism and oneness became an act of heresy - her followers were named heretics and heroes.
In this time we are invited to question what is considered to be “normal”. To question our culturally conditioned beliefs that we are separate from nature and from this Earth. To acknowledge the role that we are playing as a part of Mother Earth.
An incredible practice to do right now is to go into nature and to sit with the plants, the animals, with our Mother. Enter into your heart space, and in openness ask “How may I be of Service to you Great Mother?” Then allow yourself to be open to receive an answer. It often won’t come immediately, maybe in a dream, something you will read, overhear, maybe a shift of perspective will offer a new knowing. Allow yourself to trust, surrender and expand into the brilliant wisdom that Aquarius will offer if you take the time to listen.
