Mother Earth is a living, breathing organism, she is our home and provides everything we need in order to live and to thrive. From the food we eat to the friends we meet, she offers it all.

By understanding the cycles of nature within ourselves and the web of life we can find ways to live regeneratively, in alignment with the Earth. Now, more than ever, it is important we consider the impact of our choices on the planet.

One of the choices we have made at Awaken Academy is to offer courses, healing sessions, astrology readings and mentorship online and long distance. This has dramatically reduced our carbon footprint and makes these life-changing offerings far more accessible to the world.

We recognise the symbiotic relationships in nature and take full responsibility for our part within this complex interconnected web of life. Through living in reciprocity with Mother Earth, as our ancestors have done, we make a positive impact within our local environment and community.

At Awaken Academy we share practices to deepen our connection with plants and the Earth. Opening in gratitude we receive and listen to the language of nature to learn and heal. Embedding the Permaculture principles within our lives and offerings. 

Central to Permaculture and the concept of Earth Care is the understanding that up to one third of our ecological footprint is taken up by the food we buy. So growing a small amount, or buying local organic produce can make a huge difference. 

Gaia and James are both enthusiastic gardeners who love to grow their own food and herbs. They are passionate about sharing the wisdom received from plants and the Earth. James has established three community food growing gardens in his hometown Luton, growing food with the homeless, refugees and those facing mental health challenges, sharing the surplus produce with local food banks. 

James is trained in Horticulture Therapy and Permaculture. He has taught the Permaculture Introduction course in Guatemala and shares Earth Connection practices from the practical gardening to the metaphysical. Gaia is a budding Herbalist, weaving Astrology and Herbalism to offer bespoke wellness consultations and remedies.
